I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Advanced) from the University of Sydney, achieving First-Class honours and the University Medal. Over the course of my degree I garnered three annual academic merit awards, three Dean's List awards, a senior scholarship, and came top of all four Advanced Engineering Project subjects offered.

I also hold a bachelor's degree in Audio Visual Media Production from Macquarie University, and have spent more than 10 years in the Australian film and television industry. I've won awards locally and internationally for short films I've produced and shot, and this background helps me bring a level of creativity to my engineering approach well beyond that of most recent graduates. Some of my film work can be found on the Happydance Films website.

Over the last eighteen months I have worked as a production and process engineer at a Sydney-based startup, Tzukuri, bringing a full-stack hardware product to market. Tzukuri produces 'unlosable' smart eyeglasses that contain a Bluetooth tracking chip. During my time there I designed a number of machines and processes to help enable a complete re-imagining of the cellulose acetate eyewear production process, resulting in beautiful, seamless, waterproof packaging of electronics inside the frames.

I designed and implemented safety and quality assurance and inspection procedures, worked with external suppliers to re-specify key components, fully documenting dozens of experiments I performed across a range of material and process areas. I also developed a novel adhesive, and designed and built jigs, work-holding, and test equipment. In a managerial capacity, I facilitated the introduction of flexible Lean frameworks across the company, and implemented a Visual Production Management system.

My key area of academic interest is numerical modelling. In addition to core modelling coursework, during my time at USYD I took several electives in this area, and independently incorporated such analysis into other subjects.

A nice bit of coverage in the Sydney university Alumni magazine.

And an older bit of media about a film I shot and co-produced that got shown at Cannes.
